Pairing: Dirk Strider x Reader

The time is now 8 in the evening. And you just simply loathe heading home during this hour of the night. Why is that? It's simple. It's always giving you a hard time getting home as fast as you can, due to the lack of transportation that will pass through your street where you live. You wanted to complain and grumble about stuff, but you can't since you're too tired from your activities. Sighing in defeat, you just remained calm and kept a vigilant eye on the passing vehicles to see if there would be any luck that a passenger jeep will unload a lot of people. And just your luck, a PUJ stopped nearby you and its barely got any passengers inside. You immediately boarded it and took your seat near the entrance.

While you were waiting for the jeep to fill up, the passenger who sat to the right of you has caught your attention. He's quite the unusual looking guy, you thought as you drank in his features. He has spiked blonde hair, handsome face, and a pair of triangular shades which reminded you of Kamina from Guren Lagann. You squealed inside your head, because, well, who wouldn't feel all giddy sitting next to a hot looking dude? But as soon as the jeepney has whisked away from the loading zone, your lightheaded feelings dissipate and is now replaced by an overwhelming urge to sleep. Unable to resist it, you sat straight on your seat and leaned your head back a bit, closed your eyes and lulled off to sleep.

- 20 minutes have now passed -

Switch POV

Man, I hate riding stuffy vehicles like this. Feels much worse than a packed elevator. I swear, when I get back to the apartment, I'll give  the little dude an ass-whipping for leaving me all by myself in the studio AND taking my motorcycle without any warnings. And...wait a minute...what is that thing that keeps pecking my shoulder?

My eyes immediately snapped to my left and found this (h/c) haired girl's head bumping my shoulders. Ah, she must be asleep. "Hey" I called out to her.

Switch POV

"Hey". You heard someone call out to you. Immediately realizing that you have done it again, you wake up and straightened in your seat. You looked apologetically at the spikey-haired man beside you. "I'm so sorry, I must have annoyed you with that...man, why do I always end up causing trouble whenever I fell asleep during commutes!" you muttered the last parts of the sentence to yourself, but unknown to you, he has heard it all.

You sighed sadly and pulled out your phone from your back to check on the current time. "Just a bit more, (Name), you're gonna be home, don't fall asleep again, okay?" you mumbled to yourself as you averted your gaze to the view outside the window. But no longer than 5 minutes have you been staring outside, the drowsiness have come back and you are quickly falling asleep once more. 'Oh no, must not---sleep. Not sleep. Not sleep' you repeated the mantra in your head again and again in hopes of fighting the sleepiness in you. You were about to resort to slapping yourself to keep yourself awake, when you felt an arm lay around your shoulder and rested your head against someone's shoulder. You looked up and found that it was the spikey-haired guy. "Shh, babe. You must have really tired yourself, so just rest your head in my shoulders and take your nap, it's all cool with me" you blushed at his husky voice. "Isn't this way too much for a stranger?" you whispered to him. "No, not really. The name's Dirk, and if I heard you correctly earlier, you are (Name), right?" you nodded, feeling too drowsy to even reply back. When Dirk was sure that you were sleeping, he then kisses the top of your head. "Don't worry babe, I got you"

- timeskip -

"Rise and shine, (Name), you might be nearing your stop" you immediately awaken with a jolt and a blush covering your face when you felt Dirk's hot breath inside your ear. "Dirk, y-you could have just shake me up...but uh, that wasn't a bad way to wake me up either..." Dirk just gives you a satisfied smirk which in return you poked out your tongue at him. A few minutes later, you saw the sign of (street name) and the waiting shed where the jeepney unloads its passengers. The vehicle then halts to a complete stop at the loading and unloading sign and you scrambled off the jeep with Dirk following close behind.

"So, this is your stop too?" he nodded and pointed to one of the luxurious looking apartment just two blocks away from your right. "Yeah, and my house is right there. What about yours?" you then pointed to the other direction. "Mine's down here, at the end of the street just before the curve". Dirk then grabs your hand and leads you down the road. "D-Dirk! I-I can walk myself home you know, you don't even have to do this" you then tried to wriggle your hand out of his strong grip, but it ended up being squeezed tighter. The blush on your face increased tenfold as an effect. "No can do, babe. With you looking all cute and lethargic right now, I just can't help it but make it my job to be the one to protect you"

"Okay Dirk, you win, but just this time okay?" you cried out to him. "Well, I don't know about that (Name). Now that I have known about you, I won't let you get out of my sight again" you sighed and shaked your head. "Oh dear me, what did I just get into?..."

When the two of you were just one block away from your house, you stopped Dirk in his tracks and pulled your hand out from his grasp. "My house is that one over there, the (insert house description here). Well, uh, this is where we'll have to part. I can't risk having Dad see me being walked home by you or else I am dead. Haha. So, uh, thank you by the way and nice to meet you Dirk!". You spun on your heel and was about to walk away when Dirk grabs your wrist and spins you around to meet his form again. "What the--?" and much to your surprise, you felt a soft pair of lips make contact with yours for a brief moment. "You forgot your goodbye kiss, (Name). Well then, see you around." and with that, Dirk takes his leave. "F-Fuck...that was my first kiss...and boy, he sure did enjoyed stealing it from me. But ah, it wasn't that bad..." you then let out a small laugh and touched your lips.

"Looks like my lethargy has finally done something good for me"
Please do take note that a single curse word was there and from reader-chan nonetheless.
It's based on a real-life thing that happened to me.
